Lake Region young and young-at-heart to participate in BAYDA 2015 National Bible Bowl Championship

Posted on Aug 27 2015

The 2015 Black Adventist Youth Directors Association National Bible Bowl Championship, BAYDA, will be hosted by the Allegany West Conference at East High School in Columbus, Ohio, Oct, 23–24. A crowd of over 500 people are expected to witness the brightest youth and young-at-heart glorify God through their knowledge of the Word. More than 40, representing at least 11 conferences from the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, are expected to participate. The conferences include Allegheny East, Allegheny West, Georgia Cumberland, Greater New York, Lake Region (headquartered in Chicago, Ill.), Northeastern, Ontario, Southeastern, South Atlantic, South Central and Southwest Region. The players will display formidable command of the Bible study books (Matthew, Joshua, 1 Corinthians, Lamentations, James, Zephaniah and Philemon), delivering rapid-fire responses to moderators’ questions. Several riveting games and multiple lightning rounds are anticipated.
Bible Bowl is an annual event for all people, ages 6–126, providing students of the Scriptures an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship. And while there is a competitive element of Bible Bowl, competition is not the objective. The ultimate objective of Bible Bowl is to bring the participant closer to Jesus through intensive study of His Word. Each person who takes part in this ministry is rewarded with a deeper knowledge of God, and can truly say, “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).  There are no losers in Bible Bowl!
